Jugalbandi Schools

Jugalbandi Music & Arts in the Schools Program

Jugalbandi (Jyool-gull-bon-dee) is an Indian musical term referring to the part of a Raga when the musicians engage in a conversation, a give-and-take. Many times this has a playful quality to it.

Jugalbandi — a project of the Sebastopol Community Center started in the fall of 2000. The program is designed to provide local schoolchildren with the opportunity to both enjoy the performance of and interact with artists performing in music, storytelling, dance and theater.

Our continued thanks go out to Greg Brown, Nina Gerber and Red House Records, who continue to provide ongoing support to this program thru sales of the live Greg Brown Kate Wolf Festival double CD and Nina Gerber's own CDs.
